I know I'm getting to that age where I'm starting to yell at clouds, but this really nails it.

Saw Superman. Liked it. It's fun and comic booky, like all of James Gunn's movies. Some of the messaging was ham fisted. David Corenswet was good casting, costume looks great on film in context. Lex Luthor and Mr. Terrific steal the show.

There was a time when you'd walk out of a movie that was so good, so moving, that the world felt different. The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and for me the Sam Raimi Spider-Man (I seriously felt like slinging webs and swinging through the city). What movies do that now?

So weird Avatar did great box office, and almost 0 cultural impact. Look at the recent SDCC 2025 walkthrough videos, lots of Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and other stuff. Where are the Avatar fans? I'm not a hater, to me they were fun, forgettable, popcorn movies.
