Strongest public opinions on sports (things I used to do). Sometimes on fintech (the actual things I build).

Miami has had so many chances to win a championship and clearly can't with their aging core. I don't understand why they expect to stay with the same core. Just a matter of time until their star asks out #freebam. Come to Portland and have a 10 yr window

His toes are the price of wearing narrow Nikes all his life. Would be great to see them design shoes for how toes should naturally splay.

What a trash graphic. Basically the national media trying to get all star players to avoid small markets. There aren't many players who stay with a team longer than 10 years. Blazers have two of them. This is BS kicking of a fan base when they're down.

What a lot of leaders don't realize is that their biggest weakness is a lack of vulnerability. The pursuit of trying to be a leader without weakness is actually the very thing that becomes the weakness.

2021 was the final nail in the coffin. USC president Carol Folt (don't hate the player hate the game) shut down Pac12 expansion. Grabbing some combo of TCU, OKST, BYU, Houston, SMU, etc. could have saved the Pac and killed the Big12. But again Pac12's sense of elitism showed up.

Was wondering this. The main asset is P5 status. I'd add schools with new/big markets and history of winning against P5, like: SMU, SDSU, Tulane, Memphis, Fresno St, Rice, CSU, UNLV. Not perfect, but is at least somewhat interesting.

It's different, but being a small business owner is faster. Teaches you to figure out solutions on your own. Caveat: has to be a SB you're really trying to grow. Running vs building has a lower ceiling of learning.

PM'ing is inherently catered to the specific product being delivered and the customer being served. There's not a one size fits all approach, tho the core is understanding customer needs/problem and driving the best solution forward for them and the business. Alignment all day

Good post. The only point of contention is dogs. Dogs are far easier than humans but the fundamentals of training a dog with intention are the same as kids. Consistency. Responsibility. Not having control. All concepts important to practice for parenting

Not sure who needs to hear this: there are a lot of people who have failed and want to help you in basically everything. Be open in your challenges, ask for help, and demand feedback. People want to help those who want (and need) support. Gotta be authentic tho

I'll take this one. The idea that affirmative action or diversity, equity & inclusion policies equal lower standards is something that a lot of people believe. Instead of citing what "I believe" like Elon did, let's use facts & a something I like to called "math" A thread.

Regulatory hurdles, especially at the local level, are MAJOR headaches for small business owners. 30 years ago you could build with minimal headache but there much more red tape today. Much for the right reasons (pollution and environmental degradation) but we're off balance.

Best representation of Oregon State University so far this year is by the women's basketball team and their coach. Congrats on the amazing run 🦫 fam
