Doing my Redford Memorium Watch,and...Diane Keaton dies. So had to pause to rewatch "Annie Hall", and remember why Annie's like the infuriating/adorable girlfriend you hope you get (at least at the beginning.) Lots of great lines from before Woody Allen's cancelled. La De Da.

Taking a pause in my Robert Redford rewatch to watch Diane Keaton. Last night - "Manhattan." She's not really foremost in this, and it's a very different, cynical performance. I ended up going down a Google rabbithole to understand the 17 year old age of consent in New York.

Drew Struzan just died. I became friends with Drew in 2004, when he did an alternate poster for the Hellboy movie I co-wrote. He kindly called Columbia's publicity department, had them get me copies. My favourite Star Wars poster is his Style D. He was an Artistic genius. RIP.

Watched "Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale", the last "Downton" movie. The least of the three and for 20 minutes I wasn't sure if I was enjoying it. It HAS been 4 years since the last. But by the end, I was sad to see the actors put everything to bed.

The White House East Wing. Torn down today to create a ballroom. The East Wing contained the "Family Theater" - the White House cinema, where generations of Presidents and families enjoying films. Jimmy Carter watched 480 movies there. Bush redecorated it Movie Theater Red.

So, the White House East Wing Colonnade is verifiably gone. With it, the White House movie theater where Roosevelt used to watch newsreels, where Jimmy Carter held the movie viewing record, which Laura Bush renovated. While Speaker Mike Johnson looks the other way and goes "lalala".

The Justin Long horror-comedy "Coyotes" is odd. Often forgets narrative continuity and the coyotes appear and disappear. One character feels wandered-in from an early Peter Jackson. Cinematographer Bradley Stuckel does good composition and lighting. Give that man a bigger budget.
