Absolutely hilarious to see artists fall victim to these "organic growth" scams. It wasn't a miracle that you got 10k views/listens/followers, it was your bank account. Really hope you didn't pay for engagement on credit

Pro Tip: When someone comes up to talk while you're DJing. Cut the music to the entire room and stare intently while waiting for them to finish. It will put them on their heels & help turn the rest of the room against that person immediately. Bet it doesn't happen again either

You can profit off quality OR quantity, rarely both, but striving for the highest possible in each is the balancing act every artist must play to generate maximum revenue from their passion

"Talent" these days is more defined by ones adaptability and marketability than any discernable concentrated skill. Hoop. Jump. Praise. Pivot. Repeat. That's why you hear artists referred to as that as opposed to having it...by the ones holding their leashes.

So cringe to see people who have paid for bot engagement interact with said accounts. Horrible ROI unless you like paying to masturbate

At the end of the day we all know the DJs that worked strip clubs Not knocking. Some of them places off the chain... But this isn't about those. This is about those joints where you probably picked up more than a paycheck bc you were stupid enough to accept anything but cash.

Can't break it down any more than this: The reason many DJs sound the same is because they're playing the same edits from the same pools...BY DESIGN An artist sees monotony An accountant sees consistency Sadly, the cliche isn't "Starving Accountants"

Some of these "DJs" will pay other DJs for basic edits of an artist's song, but cringe at the thought of paying the original artist directly. Yes, the industry is fucked on infinite levels, but pools and patreon aren't helping

There is no difference between Drake and Taylor Swift Both are pop stars who have clocked the system and amassed armies of sycophantic fans They each are more a business than an artist

Never think the market you play in is bigger than the music. Esp if you're in a top 10. Do us all a favor and spread your wings to deliver culture to everyone, everywhere Stop acting like a big fish when you've never left the pond

If you're a DJ over 40n breaking your back to pull off three gigs a day, why? Spend too much money on gear? Expensive lifestyle? Poor money management? Or do you just not know your worth. Maybe you do and that's why you're trying to make it up on units
