It was a bit nippy today, but I managed to slide the hairy worm around the museum's front doors, replacing what was left of the old ones. Mrs TDO helped as it was a bit long for just me to wrangle. The door looks a lot nicer now, and the cold draughts will be kept out. #volunteer

When I spend hard earned museum funds, I like to get the best value for money. For £48 I could have bought a "museum" kit of 30 clear identification cubes with labels. Instead I sourced 50 black cubes for £9 and white labels for £3. Looks just as good too! #museum #volunteer

I helped set up the stand and then had a look around. If you live in the Swindon area and are looking for something fun and educational for your kids to do today or tomorrow, get on down to The Deanery!

Ian did a fantastic job with an absolute 'barn find' of a computer which I picked out of the store room for him to refurbish. It needed a full respray, along with plenty of cleaning, soldering, adjusting, and thankfully only a few spare parts.

Finally, I found someone selling the single keycap I was missing on my Tandy TRS-80 Model III. Now I just need to find a name badge! #Tandy #TRS80 #Computers #Retro

Can't visit the Museum of Computing on a Saturday? Now is your opportunity to visit! All 4 of these are great machines, but I'll never forget coming home from school to find a brand new CPC464 with colour monitor set up on the dining room table. Such a big upgrade from our ZX81!

It really is an amazing storage facility, that even has a conservation area. Currently it's storing over 300k objects! Here are some more photos while I go off to try and find £65m down the back of the sofa to build one of my own! That would solve our museum's storage issues!

A few more checks needed but a new LOPT has fixed this Atari ST monitor for Museum of Computing The HR STVDST-01 TV simulator is a useful tool for confirming the old LOPT was faulty before replacing it. The old LOPT has a strange bulge which could be from a winding breaking down.

The Museum of Computing would like to thank shortcircuit for organising the amazing RetroFest event in our home town of Swindon. It was a pleasure to collaborate with them and we met so many wonderful visitors and exhibitors. Looking forward to supporting next year's event!

Things you never knew existed... "Manhole Cover Grease" Today's maintenance job at the museum was to stop some smells coming from a manhole in the basement. The things I do for the Museum of Computing !

When I find Amiga items in the museum stores that have incomplete info and photos on the Amiga information sites, I always like to help them out. amiga.resource.cx/exp/ashcom508
