I approach an Environmental Services worker at my hospital. He looks over. “How you doin’, lady?” Before I have time to answer, he gets a bit closer, enough to read my badge, and corrects himself: “I mean, how you doin’, DOC?” Doing very well thank you, and loving my DOCTOR tag!

I found somebody’s drivers license in Penn station and was gonna try to heroically find them online and return it, then I noticed it expired in 2018, so somebody has probably been using it as a fake ID for the last 3 years. Kids, stay safe out there!

A quick story. I’m on ambulatory medicine at the VA. Yesterday I went to get a patient from the waiting room. A Black man who served in Vietnam. When I introduced myself as Dr. Igwe, he gave me a very strange look. I asked if I had the wrong person, but he said “no, that’s me”.
