Spoke to multiple sources about Grand Slam Track and its inability, still, to pay runners and vendors. The long-term concern is whether GST's false start will drive off potential investors in track. “My message to our athletes is, look, it’s not good." nbcnews.com/sports/track-f…

Dave Roberts said Max Muncy is going on the injured list with an oblique strain Roberts said it’s week-to-week, but they are hoping it’s not season-ending. Similar to what he battled last year, but more “mild,” per Roberts

Here in Costa Mesa for the final day of off-campus UCLA football fall camp. Coach DeShaun Foster will speak to the media in 20 minutes. Updates and a story to follow for O.C. Register.

UCLA football will practice at Drake Stadium (grass) prior to the Rose Bowl, per coach DeShaun Foster, since Spaulding field is not ready. After the Utah game, the Bruins will move to the inter-mural fields (turf) to prepare for UNLV, which plays on turf.

UCLA will have an OPEN practice at the Rose Bowl next Saturday (Aug. 23), coach DeShaun Foster said, acclimating its 50+ new players to their home confines. More details to come.

Key Lawrence is suited up tor practice, participating in some special teams drills. First time we’ve seen the transfer safety since last Saturday when he injured his leg. Coach DeShaun Foster said they’re going to “take it slow” with Lawrence, but it’s definitely an update.

LB JonJon Vaughns had a solid TFL during media-period walk throughs. DL Nico Davillier almost came away with a pick on Nico Iamaleava as well. Solid defensive stretch to watch. Something also to watch: Reuben Unije replaced Eugene Brooks for two of four first-team reps at LG.

WR Mikey Matthews appears to be KR1, followed by Titus Mokiao-Atimalala, Kanye Clark and Cole Martin (as seen in kick return reps). Matthews seems to be the comfortable favorite, but Martin and Clark look good out there — quick cuts.

Props to Tracy McDannald 📎 for asking this question. No one had asked UCLA football head coach DeShaun Foster about his relationship with #UCLA chancellor Julio Frenk yet. Frenk started his term on Jan. 1. Here are Foster's full remarks on the chancellor from Saturday:

UCLA tight end Hudson Habermehl said former Bruins linebacker Josh Woods was a huge help in Habermehl's recovery from a torn ACL, Woods having starred after his own comeback from a devastating knee. From the archives, here's my story on Woods' recovery: latimes.com/sports/ucla/st…

Hudson Habermehl yelled out to his coach in pain. All he wanted was to play. A torn meniscus and ACL last April had other plans. For O.C. Register/Inside SoCal Sports 📰, I chronicled Habermehl’s road back + how he tightened bonds with coaches and teammates: ocregister.com/2025/08/16/ucl…

Hudson Habermehl was the most open player I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to in a while. Brutally honest about his year-long recovery and humorous about his six-year UCLA journey. Take a read of my article or listen to the man himself, here: youtu.be/Ru81Rypy7FI?si…

UCLA TE Hudson Habermehl is grateful for all the teammates and coaches who helped him along in his recovery from a torn ACL suffered last spring:
