At the book event today, an entire high-school class came and they all asked me questions. The best one was, “Why is cheese a motif in your book?” Actually, a good question I never considered. For Benny, who lives in Chinatown and doesn’t eat dairy, cheese equals whiteness.

Oh, and em-dashes (or lack thereof), too.
