What I find so obscenely shocking about Abaraonye’s reaction is that he actually knew Kirk. Maybe only for a day - during that debate - but he knew him, and his first instinct was to celebrate him being shot. Most normal people would surely be in shock. What an utter psycho.

I will always defend free speech. My issue with George Abaraonye and the Oxford Union is this: How can a person be fit to run a Debating Union, if he believes that differences of opinion are fairly resolved via bullets?

When was Starmer actually *good*? He was struggling to get purchase until partygate. He was insipid during the election campaign. And he’s been poor in power. Some journos seem surprised at his performance when I think the bloke’s been pretty consistent.

George Abaraonye, the Oxford Union President Elect who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s death, has now told the New Statesman: ‘My words were no less insensitive than his’ He is not sorry for his actions. He feels no remorse for celebrating the demise of a man he met weeks ago.

Love how it’s blithely stated that a safe Labour seat in the Manchester area will be found for Andy Burnham better to pursue his efforts to dispatch Keir Starmer from inside the Commons. It shows a weak grasp of politics. First, there is no ‘safe’ Labour seat these days.

If you need a huge smile today this is it… Remember Snickers the Thai street dog who used to bring me a random gift each day to thank me for feeding her? You won’t believe how well she is doing now (1/7) 🧵

I feel the same. To be clear, I've never been invited, but I wouldn't say yes to a man I could be absolutely certain would express delight if I was murdered.
