🎉 Welcome, New Instructors, to #OnRamps Summer PLI! Today, Quantum Computing Instructors participated in a series of exercises to survey their ability to write Python code — a programming language students will use in the course for data structures, loops and conditionals. 🧑‍💻

🤘 #OnRamps Instructors ROCK! This morning, Geoscience Instructors joined UT Austin faculty lead Dr. Joel Johnson in a lecture about plate tectonic theory and associated geohazards — and discussed engagement strategies to present the content to students.

🎮 Game on! New Instructors teaching the Arts & Entertainment Technologies course explored project-based learning pedagogy and discussed strategies for supporting students in designing a video game, complete with a level map and tileset. #OnRampsPLI

Today at #OnRampsPLI, Physics I Instructors learned from UT Austin faculty about the Atwood Machine — a device used to show principles of dynamics and acceleration — and discussed what a lesson about this topic might look like in their own classrooms.

College Algebra New Instructors put themselves in students' shoes today at #OnRampsPLI. The group was divided into learning teams to collaborate on quadratics and matrices exercises that are part of the course.

Today is #OnRampsPLI "model teach" day for our New Instructors — a chance to practice teaching and applying the innovative pedagogy used for each course. Instructors also step into the student role, observing and sharing feedback within their supportive community of practice. 🧑‍🏫

Today, during #OnRampsPLI, Returning Economics Instructors explored the basics of game theory through the student lens. They deepened their understanding of the college course content while identifying and discussing areas to support student success.

How can we make RStudio approachable for students who are first-time users? During #OnRampsPLI, Returning Statistics Instructors discussed this very question and shared strategies to ensure students feel confident and curious about the data analysis tool from day one. 📈

🌋 Returning Geoscience Instructors joined Dr. Joel Johnson to explore hot topics: volcano formation and plate tectonics! This deep dive into Unit 2 content strengthened their understanding of Earth’s dynamic systems and how to better support student learning. #OnRampsPLI
