Day 1 of AWE highlighted power of off-loading AR processing via 5G. Pixel streaming AR content could be the key to feather-light HMDs with access to powerhouse computing. #AWE2020
Favorite tech of day 1 of AWE was real-time VFX using Unreal. The tactical integration of the digital and real world was innovative and powerful. #AWE2020
Day 2 morning of AWE was a good view into developer challenges. New and upcoming cross-platform tools are exciting for me as a hardware designer. They will let the right HMD be used for the right job with less burden on the app. #AWE2020
History repeats itself in day 2 of AWE, as we watch XR take the field for our own version of the standardization battles fought by our audio and video technology predecessors #AWE2020
We’re two days into AWE, and I have to give a shout out to all of the track chairs. They are doing an amazing job of engaging with the speakers, rolling with the technical punches, and pioneering this new medium. Thank you! #AWE2020
The day 3 AWE favorite for me was David Heath and Ken Fast with their talk on AR for shipbuilding. Their message to “find one thing” then overcome real challenges to deliver tangible value should be the gold standard for driving AR adoption in enterprise #AWE2020
Day 4 of the AWE and my early fondness for 5G / Edge has grown into a full-on crush. We’re going to not only be able to make some amazing HMDs going forward, we’re also going to be able to supercharge existing products into AR powerhouses. Hardware Augmented! #AWE2020
A West Point friend once told me that one of our greatest protections against tyranny was that the members of the US military are first and foremost guardians of the constitution. I’m proud (and relieved) to see that when tested, he was right.

The IT & Data Security panel discussion at #EWTS was excellent. Executing a high-value group discussion is often challenging, but the team’s subject matter expertise and focus on “content over company” made it feel like a team meeting, not a commercial. Well done!
