Students taking ownership of their assessments: choosing to show the differences between Patriots and Loyalists in the form of a sort, a collage, or a poster. Then we will self assess and share with classmates to demonstrate our understanding! Linden Elementary

These fourth graders are amazing! Using RACES (restate, answer, cite,explain, summarize) when we are preparing for class discussions! Today we did a close read in ROAR block on Daughters of the American Revolution&how they helped the war in ways other than fighting! Linden Elementary

We are rocking our first unit in EL in third grade! So far our favorite protocol is Think Pair Share! Linden Elementary
One of our favorite games! To review our phonics vocab, I put a word related to our recent skill on the slide. One kiddo sits with their back to the screen, and calls on students for clues! This gets the kids using academic language, and highlights misconceptions! Linden Elementary
At Linden Elementary we use our ROAR block/ intervention time to respond to classroom data&give students exactly what they need to fill gaps! Today with partners we are reading multi syllabic words&analyzing syllable types to become more fluent readers who can decode and comprehend!
Idea shop this morning in third grade! As we are coming up to the end of our first module, we are brainstorming and using academic language in the classroom, building our rich vocabulary one day at a time! Linden Elementary
