A new group of children went to Parkdale today to be part of our intergenerational learning. Tradition means we ring the bell once to let everyone know we have left 🔔 we will be back next week for more fun and laughter 🥳🥰

This morning children and staff had their very own Burns supper for snack. Children tried new food and performed a Scots poem or song with their key groups. Happy Burns Day! #BurnsDay #NewFood #MealtimeExperience #Performing

We would like to thank Eilidh, one of our senior pupils, who came over to the nursery today and played the bagpipes. The children later extended this by listening to other Scottish music and having our own ceilidh #Music #Dancing #BagPipes #BurnsDay

A packed out hall for our Early Learning and Childcare PKC Improvement Methodology training today. Eve Moran Education Scotland had us all working hard and yes, the paper aeroplanes were a vital part of the learning process as we experimented with putting the tools into action! ✈️ 📊📈💜

Imaginative play encourages children to use objects, gestures, actions, pictures & words to represent other things, ideas or behaviours. The psychologist Jean Piaget referred to this as symbolic thought, an essential part of early literacy & language development (Wilder Child)
