KRA has set the fringe benefit tax and deemed interest rate for April, May, and June 2024 at 16%. This is an increase from the first quarter rate of 15%.

On fringe benefit tax, employers paying lower than market interest rate for a loan provided to an employee or director are required to pay fringe benefits tax. The taxable value is the difference between the actual interest paid and the market interest rate.
