Absolutely loved teaching this group of year 2 Senior Biology students uOttawa Education! We capped off our course with dissection of grassfrogs and honed our skills for how to best guide students to success with specimens. Wishing all of these teachers successful careers ahead!

Today was all about blood in biology 11 forensics unit Hadley Jr. / Philemon Wright High School . We looked at the angles of cast off and impact, and how height affects size of droplets. Working up to our final project at the end of May to fully understand and interpret a crime scene.

Another great school year wrapped up! My students ended on a high note and there were some excellent projects for grade 11 forensics unit - analysing a crime scene! We also released butterflies which I always think is poignant given that the students are graduating tomorrow 🦋

I had a lovely time conducting a workshop about worldly education and the urgency and nature of transformative pedagogies at the Canadian Teacher's Federation CTF/FCE with Nicholas Ng-A-Fook , Dr. Catherine James and Paul Tarc. Pleasure to work with you as we continue this research.

A great week in PED 3131 designing really practical experiments for intermediate science. Light spectra of various metal salts, building structures with index cards to test various forces, and looking at the effect of temperature on the kinetic energy of gases!

We had some great and not so great pumpkin blasts today in PED 3131. It was a good way to learn about what mixtures work for this cool demo! Here's one that worked perfectly! Université d'Ottawa | University of Ottawa uOttawa Education

You don't need a lot of tech to do a respiratory system activity! My grade 9 classes built "lungs" today using bottles, balloons and straws! The lung inflates when you pull the diaphragm down and vice versa. All materials can be saved for next year!

Another great day in PED4194 Senior Biology uOttawa Education .. The stomata lab is always a hit and it's a great entry point for talking about how plants are dynamic and challenge "plant blindness."

Really enjoying the activity stations of PED 4194 (Sr biology) uOttawa Education . From shoreline erosion to the microbiology of yeast, students are thinking outside the box about activities for students in the Ontario biology classroom and they're superb!

Did any of my Canadian university colleagues and friends receive or know someone who received the email reportedly sent to non-US academics inquiring as to whether their research was DEI, climate change, or gender focused (among other things)?
