As I commend this settlement, I want to remind everyone that Cueva de las Golondrinas remains unprotected. The U.S. EPA Northeast and Caribbean Region is authorized to intervene, impose penalties, and seek relief in court when previous remedies have failed to stop wrongdoing.

Puerto Ricans and the neighbors of Aguadilla demand action and fairness, like in the Maunabo case.

I'm horrified by the events in Aguadilla yesterday. Private security assaulted and shot activists peacefully protesting. Since when is protecting the environment a crime? This nonsense must end. Relevant agencies must do their jobs, and those responsible must face justice.
