I lowkey forgot Sunshine was the best movie ever

28 years later hype bringing Sunshine 2007 back into public consciousness..

During this conversation, Boyle told me he and Garland clashed on Sunshine. Boyle is a more mystical and spiritual guy; Garland is all about explanation and practicality. That's been rolling around my head as 28YL sits. I think it's the best possible synthesis of those two modes.

Hearing how great this film is & having a major tonal shift in the third act just further proves that this is something Boyle & Garland often do. Did it in the beach, 28 days, & Sunshine. They take risks & swing for the fences and you have to respect that. Excited to watch this!

28 YEARS LATER is some kind of existential masterpiece. Wow.

Yes indeed it was. SUNSHINE is a science fiction masterpiece that if released today would be a box-office hit and sweeping up awards by the dozen. Audiences weren't ready for it at the time.

Absolutely agree with this article. Sunshine was one of the best movies of 2007 and is absolutely one of the best movies of the 2000s. If you ever get the chance to watch it then do yourself a favour and admire this space epic.
