In the seven tournaments before his retirement, Tochinishiki won 95 out of a possible 105 bouts. He bowed out at the top of his game, unusual for a Yokozuna. Wonder how the early 60s might've been different if he stayed on. The young Taiho and Kashiwado never managed to beat him.

Can anyone tell me exactly when the kimarite list was expanded, and which techniques specifically were added? I’ve been told it was largely in response to Kyokushūzan, so I’m assuming the 90s or early 2000s?
