A few years ago, in the forests of Ranthambore, lived a tigress called Machhli (Fish)- a roaring fish who swam through all thick and thin to raise generations of indomitable tigers! #machhli #tigress #ranthambore #wildlife #studiokyaari #folkindica #art

The Mahanadi river in Odisha is home to the mystical Gharial, the crocodilian species i.e. unique to the Indian subcontinent.🐊🌊 Depicted in the unique FolkIndica art style, the centre shows the glorious Gharial breeding, basking and feasting on a fish in its natural habitat.

With the head of a Bar-headed goose and the tail of a Mahseer fish, we imagine the entire Mahanadi river as one magnificent ship (Boita) that carries the history, biodiversity & culture of a great civilisation along its currents from hills of Chattisgarh to the Kalinga Sagar.

#InternationalVultureAwarenessDay My picture of divinity lies in how death to one is food (life) to another. A huge part of the wild buffalo becomes the tiger and other creatures, parts he gathered from ancestral soil & rivers, some becomes the soil & a lot becomes the vulture.

India's rich legacy of native beliefs & practices are an outcome of generations of coexistence, sincere observations & deep understanding of tigers, that have guided & can guide a much more balanced & practical approach to 'conservation' today. #indigenoustigers #folkindica #art
