๐Ÿ”ฅ Attention language lovers! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Beware of deletion, distortion, and generalization patterns in communication! Sweeping statements may sound too good to be true, so always check the facts and context behind them. ๐Ÿ˜‰ #language #communication

Deletion is a pattern in NLP where important information is left out. It can be unintentional/deliberate. It impacts the message's accuracy & meaning. Avoid being influenced by deletion - consider the missing information & context behind a statement. #NLP #language

Distortion is a pattern in NLP where facts are exaggerated or misrepresented to make a statement more compelling. Avoid being misled, consider the evidence & context behind a statement. By being aware of distortion, we can improve our critical thinking skills. #NLP #communication

As an HR professional, you are expected to be well-spoken, whether it is in English or any other language. To be able to speak clearly, you need to be aware of your mood, as it affects how you breathe, which in turn affects your speechโ€™s speed, tone & vocabulary.

Richard Butler (@successcoach) 's Twitter Profile Photo

To gain confidence when speaking, speak to yourself, and I donโ€™t mean in your head; listen to your voice. Record yourself You need to be comfortable hearing yourself speak, doing this you will be able to adjust your tone, and space out your words properly.

Breathe and construct sentences in your head, plan, and adjust accordingly. It is by doing that you are able to LEAD a conversation. Vocabulary and tonality come when you arenโ€™t rushing your words, no one is chasing you, be comfortable having peopleโ€™s attention.

Watching movies in English will give you the repetition by hearing words, again & again People often use the same words in their day-to-day lives. Accumulating these words & becoming comfortable using them will help you during conversations and prevent you from being nervous.

People like to use puns in their daily lives, and will often use lots of phrasal verbs into the mix. Want to learn what phrasal verbs are?ย  Let me know so that you can practice them to get comfortable contributing to any conversation you might encounter as an HR.
