Now, those individuals are being protected from public scrutiny by the Inquiry that is meant to deliver us justice. The Covid 19 Inquiry has decided not to call ANY of the suppliers who made money from procurement deals during the pandemic to give evidence.

This isn't just unfair. If we don't get to the bottom of how these deals were made, we won't be able to save people when the next crisis hits, whatever and whenever that might be. PPE procurement deals were a matter of life and death. From the voices of our members:

'My mother was discharged from hospital directly to a care home whose staff seemed unsure of the correct PPE procedures. She died 2 weeks later. Those who supplied unusable PPE must be held to account.' UK Covid-19 Inquiry

'I lost my beautiful mum Wendy to Covid as the government were unable to keep her safe. I cannot believe that the inquiry has chosen not to question the dodgy PPE suppliers, this is disgusting and shows they are supporting them making money when they did not help prevent Covid'

'Awarding contracts to companies with no experience in the provision of PPE is questionable at best and speaks of corruption at worse. Families who lost loved ones deserve answers and if lessons are really going to be learned then the award of PPE contracts must be considered.'

'How can anyone be protected who supplied inadequate and faulty PPE Be honest! If there's nothing to hide there shouldn't be a problem, you can't pick and choose what suits you and why would you want to'

'My Dad, George Whyatt, died from Covid 19. I could not be with him when he passed away. The whole C19 debacle was mismanaged, but by far the worst aspect of this mismanagement were the "companies" who made a fortune selling overpriced, sub standard PPE with the "help" of those..

in Govt. The Covid Inquiry is about holding decision makers to account and taking learning from what has happened to avoid the same mistakes as last time. How can that happen if those that procured the dodgy PPE and the companies that were involved are not being called?'

Follow us throughout module 5 of the Inquiry. We will continue to post our members' experiences, and their calls for the Inquiry to demand evidence from those who profited while our loved ones died.

How does a small loss-making recruitment agency land a £50 million deal to supply PPE? According to Lord Feldman, the agency owner just needs to be a 'good chap' and 'ex-SAS'. Much of the PPE SG Recruitment eventually delivered would be marked 'do not supply to the NHS'.

At UK Covid-19 Inquiry this morning, Rosemary Gallagher of the RCN explained that some PPE provided to NHS workers was so substandard that it was potentially harmful. The consequences of a Government putting profit and personal connections ahead of public health. #VIPLane

Today at UK Covid-19 Inquiry, Matt Hancock was asked if he knew of any other country in the world that set up a VIP-Lane. He repeatedly refused to answer before saying that VIP-Lanes during pandemics are an 'inevitable part of life'. The answer he was looking for was no.

Matt Hancock describes promoting a PPE offer from his pub landlord, Mr Bourne, as 'impeccable behaviour'. Mr Bourne was awarded a £40m contract. He then subcontracted out the work. Fortunately for Mr Bourne, UK Covid-19 Inquiry has chosen not hear evidence from any Suppliers.
