A fat bank account, cars, Instagram followers, certifications, and a beautiful lawn don't do much for our happiness. Nothing inherently wrong with them (except perhaps the lawn — not good for the environment). Relationships! That's what really counts.

This outstanding review in JACCP coupled with Pharmacy Fika podcast episode on critical thinking are great introductions to these essential educational concepts. We need to give our students more opportunities to grapple with problems with unclear answers. #PharmEd

Been (re)reading Alia J. Crum, PhD’s papers over the past few weeks and marvel at how cleverly they are designed. Fascinating. Implications far reaching. Seems to me mindsets are a therapeutic approach we overlook but should harness.

Oddly I have found students to be among the most resistant to “ungrading.” Some just need the validation that they are “better” than their peers. Others worry they can’t distinguish themselves. But are grades and a high GPA really the best way to document one’s abilities?
