Dundee WWF Earth Hour campaign next week. Various buildings across Dundee will be turning their lights green, culminating in an effort to switch off lights on Saturday, the 23rd of March, at 8:30 pm for an hour. Earth Hour for Youth | Earth Hour earthhour.org

At our P7 transition visits this week, children thought of things that would be the same at high school (pink post-its) and things they thought would change (yellow post-its). We hope they're feeling reassured and excited! St Paul's Academy

A busy start to the new school year in SfL with trips to Camperdown, the McManus and Newton Farm, as well as bike riding and lots of effort settling (back) into our school routines.

Quick update after another busy few weeks in SfL. A day at Teen Ranch; practising putting tents up at Duke of Edinburgh; bouldering at Block 10 and visiting the residents of Turriff House where we enjoyed a game of indoor curling. Learning doesn't only happen in the classroom.

Is there such a thing as a quiet week in SfL? This week our young people have squeezed in a visit to the Dundee design festival; a shopping trip; cooking on the firepit; and making pizzas in Home Economics. Learning doesn't only happen in the classroom.

Our ESA children have been enjoying getting out and about this week. Litter-picking in the winter sunshine to keep our community tidy; and sparking their curiosity at the V&A. Learning doesn't only happen in the classroom.

Merry Christmas from everyone in SfL! Over the last couple of weeks we have had a private screening of Home Alone at the Ardler Complex; performed at the school Christmas concert, seen our finished mosaic at the Dichty Burn; and celebrated at our Christmas party!

Brilliant visit from DundeeScienceCentre this week. We saw what we could build with 'Real life' Minecraft; used big magnetic panels to create a cave and a fortress; and designed and made our own badges. Great fun, no pressure, lots of learning and wonderful cooperation. Fab.
