The British Constitution has been exposed as deeply undemocratic. We now have a state based on a political union where one partner cannot legally consider its relationship to the rest. The argument that this is a 'voluntary union' is dead.

Today’s ruling is important & provides legal clarity. However, the issue of Independence is one for democracy & politics. People vote for the SNP because it backs Independence. It’s why the SNP keep winning & winning well. It cannot simply be wished away and will need resolved.

I wonder how many Scots will today realise they have been conned into believing Scotland was in a voluntary union?
