Day 2 of #STEMtastic with WEST was brilliant! Year 6 loved their day of circuit building, boat construction and camera obscure making at Discovery Museum.

Year 6s final event of a brilliant WEST #STEMtastic week is the STEM bus with @S4ALearningHubs. The children have to prevent an egg from breaking after being dropped for the upstairs of the bus - 4m high! Some very creative solutions!

After a lot of preparation, our incredibly hardworking and talented Performing Arts group are putting on their performance of High School Musical for the rest of the school and parents.

It’s Year 3’s class assembly this morning and they are showcasing the singing (which included singing in Latin!) which they’ve been practicing with Miss. Oldfield from Newcastle’s St. Nicholas Cathedral. Well done everyone - fantastic! 👏🏻 😊 🎶

Year 4 have been super scientists at Science Club this half term. Our final session included a visit from Fyto Ltd. to check on the plants we have been growing, as well as a scavenger hunt around the Life Science Centre!

Year 5 and 6 are finding out all about Holi. Our visitor is teaching them all about Hinduism and the Festival of Colour.

Year 4 have been enjoying reading some of our recent First News 🗞️❤️💙 newspapers. This wonderful resource is keeping the class up to date with current world affairs 👍🏻

As part of our #WorldBookDay celebrations, 16 lucky competition winners were taken to Seven Stories to buy a book of their choice and had a treat lunch from McDonald's UK. The children made their own books using only one piece of A3 paper.

This week in art, Year 6 have been working on creating work which is representative of the personalities. They initially used Mayan spirit companions to help them think about who they are and what they’re good at.

What a fantastic Lego Celebration we had today. Thank you to all the parents who came to play, build and help their children showcase their fantastic skills. Our Reading Ambassadors visited Seven Stories today to have a look around and buy some new books for the school library. They absolutely loved visiting Ouseburn and came back to school with some cracking new books 😊
