With family stuck in Charlotte airport, it's depressing to see how far behind is US train infrastructure. Venezia/Napoli: 4 trains an hour, 5 hours 20 minutes, $105. 2 companies to choose from. Amtrak Charlotte/STL: handful of trains a week. 39 hours, $386

I was able to avoid it for a couple of years, but finally caught Covid last week. Luckily I had a booster in April that (so far) made my symptoms mostly fever, chills and coughing. Please keep masking and make sure you boosters are up to date!

I wrote lots of words about the hidden dangers of how we handle the growing number of clusters, CRDs, and controllers in organizations. If we treated Kubernetes like a programming language, we would never accept the safety it offers. I think we can improve the status quo.

Beautify your cloud infrastructure with crossplane and Upbound. Grupo Boticário did! As the second-largest cosmetics company in Brazil, improving their systems was no easy task. See how our product simplified it for them in our webinar 👉 buff.ly/3WbaPk0

I haven't fully formulated this thought because I'm ripping mad, but all this week I've been unable to stop thinking of the 5 years I worked at TED Talks and how the wealthiest members of this society pump up the egos of men like Elon Musk and empower them to wreak havoc.

Crassus had power and was the wealthiest man in Rome, so naturally he decided to invade Parthia to get more money and power. His army was slaughtered and he was captured. Parthians poured molten gold down his throat to mock his greed and used his severed skull as a prop.
