A little quiet in the sunshine by Lough Foyle this morning with a small catch of 21 birds of which only 12 new. 3 more Yellowhammers but the best catch was this Mistle Thrush - just the 4th (excl. chicks) we've ringed in the past c10 years @djones266 @crymble47 Patrick Ryan

Well it's a lovely day at the office! Ziba is working on a new project and the views from the study site are absolutely gorgeous. 😍 We can't say what the new study species is yet, but we will give a full update at the end of March on what could possibly be a world first.

Loved seeing so many birds with #birdrings on #WildIsles tonight, & knowing of many of the ringers who would have facilitated those. Such important work to highlight.

Had a fantastic day on Lighthouse Island with Copeland Bird Observatory today. The weather held out for us and its been a long time since I’ve seen so many bird species in the one place.

A bumper wader catch on the Bann Estuary last night with 87 new birds of 8 species + a retrap. Turnstones tend not to venture up the estuary, so these were the first caught at the site. It was a good night all round for the team of 6, gaining new experience & handling new species
