This morning our Deputy Director Steph and local volunteers Janet and Peter had a good chat with Ted O'Brien about the importance of Fuel Efficiency Standards. Ted was excited to have a ride in our EV ute when the roadshow comes to Qld 🛻⚡️

Huge day for North Queensland with the announcement Queensland Government will build the CopperString transmission line. On what this means for the region the Premier just said: "Townsville will be on the global map as a clean energy manufacturing superpower." YES 👏🌞

We started working in Townsville in 2019 when the media narrative was that regional Qlders had rejected action on climate. Today the only mention of coal was that new coal royalties are funding CopperString. Everyone is talking about renewables and clean manufacturing for NQ 🙌🌞

I don't think any Australian would open a large power bill and respond, "I know. The solution is to build the most expensive electricity generation that'll take more than a decade to get up and running". But that's what nuclear is: it's not a solution, it's a red herring 🐟

Over the weekend we hosted a community forum alongside the Queensland Community Alliance with Queensland's Energy Minister Mick de Brenni. Thank you Minister for listening to the community and committing to work on a solution to support solar on rentals and social homes 👏🌞

I'm very proud to be working on this campaign. Solar for all isn't easy but there are key steps we can take to achieve it: ✅️ A VPP on social housing ✅️ Minimum energy efficiency standards for existing rentals ✅️ Incentives for landlords Let's go Qld!

We're calling on the Queensland Government to support Renewable Energy Industrial Precincts to stimulate Queensland manufacturing and build future-proof regional economies. It's amazing to campaign with these climate champions 🌞💪 Read our joint policy paper here: assets.nationbuilder.com/solarcitizens/…

Our latest report, released alongside Lock the Gate, found that fugitive emissions—that’s gas leaking out of coal & gas extraction sites—will be the largest source of emissions in Queensland by 2030. That’s right, even more than our electricity, agriculture & transport sectors🤯

Thanks for meeting with members of the Power Together coalition today Mark Bailey MP. Queenland's Energy & Jobs Plan is an impressive large-scale pathway to clean energy. The missing piece is what we can do at the household level: solar, storage & energy efficiency upgrades 🌞🔋

Very nice to catch up with Dr Christian Rowan today to discuss the importance of bi-partisan support for strong climate action and the energy transition ☀️👷‍♀️ The NSW Coalition set a great example this week by pushing for stronger climate targets. We'd love to see LNP - Liberal National Party do the same!

Amazing news! Queensland's new Premier has just announced a new 75% by 2035 emission reduction target. This is an incredible step that will help our climate, communities and nature thrive. Thank you Premier Steven Miles for taking this important leap in the right direction.

We’ve got two billboards in Clayfield calling on Opposition Leader David Crisafulli to stand up for our nature, communities and economy by supporting climate action. We're asking the Qld LNP to vote in Parliament for these targets and commit to a plan for reaching them.
