Good to see progress in #CPTPP - disappointing (if unsurprising) to see China (and Taiwan) stuck in the slow lane. Indonesia’s application a gamble bug if they’re prepared to meet the standards, why not? (Same can be said for China!)

Govt should start this process by abolishing the employer superannuation contribution tax (ESCT) introduced by the previous National administration.

The problem with ideas like capital gains tax (Labour) or increased kiwisaver (National) - both ideas worthy of consideration - is that are only part of a bigger tax and retirement picture. Both parties need to focus on the bigger plan.
