Exploring Coral models at our Ocean Odyssey Adventure Day ⁦STEMTaught⁩

We explored the ocean with four Kern County schools in the last week, including more than 300 virtual scuba divers and more than 1,000 students! We'll bring the magic of ocean science to dozens of schools this the year with help from The Hydrous & The California Coast's Whale Tail grant!

STEMTaught has been great for Buttonwillow. Our students are doing an oceanography unit for summer school. 2 days in & the students are enjoying it. With good attendance at summer school they earn a day trip to the beach. So glad Roady went virtual scuba diving in May.

Whale Tail Grant recipient STEMTaught is leading programs in schools in Kern County and in Paradise in Butte County.

3rd grade students from Waialua Elem, the next generation of ocean activists, want to remind us that coral reefs are alive! To show corals the respect they deserve, they remind us to “only stand on the sand”. It’s great to see how passionate they are about ensuring healthy reefs

We had over 50 high school students come to volunteer and help pack supplies for Maui schools that burned Was very touching. Many of them were our original STEMTaught students.
