📃 New paper! Dr Divita Saraogi undertook the very tricky study of X-ray polarization properties of powerful cosmic explosions called Gamma-ray bursts 💥. To do this, she had to invent an entirely new technique to localize them on the sky! rdcu.be/etET8 IIT Bombay

Lightning - very common, not fully understood! Lightning also emits gamma rays which can be detected from space - and India's proposed Daksha Space Mission will be the best detector ever built for understanding these "Terrestrial Gamma-ray Flashes"! Today at IISER Pune : a conference to celebrate the 100th birthday of E V Chitnis, one of the founding members of ISRO ! I have the pleasure of being a speaker. Did you know, he co-authored the first Indian paper on the study of an X-ray source with a sounding rocket?
