Traveling in Europe reminds me that English is really the Windows of the languages world. It's janky, has a lot of legacy, and doesn't always behave the way you expect, but it's _just_ ubiquitous enough that most countries agree that it needs to be supported in most signage.

They are really the only way for large codebases to gradually adopt some modules semantics. Once you're on header units, taking smaller pieces and converting that surface to a named module becomes significantly easier.
