For ADHDers, rest is not wasted time. Short breaks are what keep ADHD brains engaged long enough to finish most simple tasks.

The fact that we weren't loved by the people who were "supposed" to love us means exactly nothing about who we are, our worth, our potential, or how our life "has" to go.

You don't outgrow people, you outgrow the version of yourself that tolerated them. They didn't change. You did. And the distance isn't betrayal, it's evolution. You're not abandoning them. You're reclaiming yourself.

The moment you become self-aware, you become inconvenient. You start asking better questions. You stop accepting half-truths. You stop playing roles that were assigned without consent. And suddenly, the people who benefited from your confusion call you “difficult.”

You weren't loved, you were tolerated until you stopped performing. The affection lasted as long as you stayed agreeable, predictable, digestible. The moment you asked for reciprocity, the dynamic collapsed. That wasn't love. That was control.

You weren't overreacting, you were finally reacting. All those years of swallowing pain, minimizing disrespect, rationalizing neglect, they built pressure. And when you finally exploded, they called it “too much.” But it was accurate. It was overdue.

People who think ADHD is just just 'can't concentrate and sometimes gets a bit silly' have no idea what they're talking about, and yet still they speak with full confidence and advocate for support and accommodations to be taken away.

ADHD is hyping yourself up to get things done and feeling paralyzed the second you actually try to start.

I don’t lack effort - I lack a clean on-ramp. Once I’m moving, I surprise myself. Starting is the dragon.

Kinda ironic: it’s “just chemistry” until it rearranges your whole life. A couple extra reactions in the brain and suddenly one page is a mountain. Not laziness, not morals - biology. If you’re wrestling with focus today, give yourself grace and go in tiny steps.
