So cool! Plus, I smile when I read about Juno checking out Jupiter’s moons because I love the sense of humor behind naming a mission to these moons (named for the Roman god’s lover) after the Roman god’s wife. (Rocket) Scientists rock!

Awesome critters spotted on our camping trip in NY’s #FingerLakes. The blinded sphinx #moth has great camouflage, the dark fishing #spider is big enough to catch small fish, and the #toad is tinier than my pinkie nail.

I never had the pleasure of teaching Katie, but I was Erin's 6th-grade science teacher. I still remember when we built & tested kites, running down the long hallway before taking them outside on a very windy day! #GatorStrong Stone Ridge washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/07…

4 students, one on each side of a square table. 4 views of the β€œmystery cube.” What do you observe? What do the other 3 people observe? You can’t move from your seat or touch the cube. What claim do you make to answer the question, β€œWhat’s on the bottom?” What’s your reasoning?

My classes are learning about different kinds of variables and what makes a "Fair Test." This is a nice virtual exploration that we're using. scootle.edu.au/ec/viewing/L54…

Our Jr. Scientists are working in small groups, investigating a β€œnew life form” on ExploreLearning Gizmos. Can they create a fair test to determine which environmental factor influences this life firm’s body shape?

#MiddleSchool #ScienceTeachers We're looking for some diagnostic test we can give at the start of 6th, 7th, & 8th grade to address gaps students have from the previous grade's Next Generation Science Standards expectations. Does anyone know of such tests?

I just started using this at a friend's recommendation. I'm planning to use it to help me give feedback, as well as to lower the reading level on useful articles for my 6th graders.
