“ hey — give me some credit. it takes more than an overgrown octopus arm to kill me. ”
dante runs a hand around his throat. that hurt a little — 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒.
“ hey , gotta ask. your mother some sorta half—octopus demon freak. . . .ᐣ ”
“ you’re human? let me guess — traumatic childhood lead to powers you despise — but are totally cool? ”
dante leans forward slightly — rebellion calmly resting on his shoulder. that cocky grin plastered across his face.
“ me too .ᐟ ”
a small few blinks from dante — as if processing what he just said. sure, dante knew — but how did he know at just a glance.
he drops rebellion with a twist into a reverse grip, embedding it into the ground. lazily leaning on it’s guard.
“ yeahh. . . what are you exactly .ᐣ ”
a brow raised — face contorting like someone’s just told him something that’s stupid.
“ that’s cryptic , octopus. ”
he eyes it up and down one more, before letting out a long huff — like he’s gave up figuring him out.
dante has the wonder wether to just shoot him with one of his weapons — convinced he was anything than human.
but he stayed his hand, just for the moment. eyes narrowed a little.
“ let’s agree to disagree, ” dante tells him, watching him as if expecting his body to move again.
“ i don’t know — i’m still weighing it up in my head. ”
it’s a shrug that accompanied his words, bringing up ebony. just tapping it against his chin.
“ but — word of advice .ᐣ that’s not something you say when you’re trying to look threatening, octopus. ”
