Glad to share our latest work in The FEBS Journal. Our successful characterization of prokaryotic Ras-like GTPase SofG. Shows that MglB acts as a GAP for both SofG and MglA. This is the first demonstration of a dual-specificity GAP in prokaryotes. IISER Pune febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/fe…

Meet Jiangfeng Zhao from China, postdoctoral fellow at EMBL Grenoble. His research focuses on the spliceosome, an essential and complex molecular machine that selects and removes the non-coding RNA (introns) that are unnecessary for producing mRNAs and functional proteins.

U5 snRNP is one of the key building blocks of the spliceosome, but how it is assembled and recycled remains unknown. Check out our latest paper to find out more about this process: nature.com/articles/s4159… #RNP #splicing #cryoEM EMBL Grenoble European Research Council (ERC)

EMBL researchers have provided new structural insight into the splicesome – a molecular machine involved in the maturation of mRNA molecules. A deeper understanding of the spliceosome could pave the way for novel therapies for genetic disorders. embl.org/news/science-t…
