Christmas is early this year! We're thrilled to have this awesome photoluminescence spectrometer up and running in the lab soon. Time-resolved in the visible AND NIR (up to ~ 1500 nm) with temperature control. Thanks @HScientific, and NSERC / CRSNG for the generous RTI funding!

UBCO CHEM319 Scientific Instrumentation course project demo: students built absorption spectrometers made from scratch (circuit, GUI, Lego) Dev the course with Dr. Godin SolarSpec was fun, seeing students design elements better than commercial system is satisfying! 👍UBC Science Okanagan

Thanks for highlighting our work from Nanoscale journal family (pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…)! We're excited about understanding these systems better and develop better photocatalysts.

Please RT. One week to go to submit abstracts for the RSC Photophysics & Photochemistry Group event held here at Chemistry - University of Strathclyde. The Solar Chemicals Network SuperSolar

2) Our work on cobalt-loaded carbon nitride for biomass photoreforming has been accepted in the new ACS Publications journal Artificial Photosynthesis! Looks like we're paper #5. Fabulous work by Mitchell and Jenna, two undergrads who did amazing stuff! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ap…

Things have been busy for the past months, for example we hosted the inaugural Solar Energy BC Conference (SEBC 2025): Path to Net Zero at UBC Okanagan in April. Read the recap here: solar-energy.ok.ubc.ca/2025/06/10/seb… #SEBC2025 #SolarEnergy #SustainableEnergy #CleanTech #EnergyInnovation
