Whatever your politics, it's an engineering marvel. Time for India's own steampunk-like genre of comics/graphic novels, blending the country's unique cultural map + geography with knowledge and tech stories. Available art online is (not-so-strangely?) derivative. Back to ACK?

A significant drop in extreme poverty as measured is always worth documenting and debating. What else could be measured? Many other indicators are improving as well, some less dramatically. Miles to go, but must document the many miles passed. They represent enormous efforts.

"The bridge is in Vaishno Mata’s Reasi, a district in Jammu btw." Good point. Political messaging aside by the Central government, it's crucial in a country as huge as India to situate geography and local history. Extraordinary engineering here acts as a cultural bridge also.

Difficult to complete some writing on a chapter in institutional economics when this 4X100 women's relay win is going down in Taiwan. Handy inspiration, however! Championship record broken.

Jyothi Yarraji goes from strength to strength (South Korea to Taiwan, hurdle to hurdle). What a month! The front-runners couldn't possibly have been expecting this acceleration to a gold.

Whatever Team India is doing in the relays, may they keep on doing. A class act already with golds in the 4X100 M and W. Now look at this one in the Men's 4X400. The Taiwan Championship record broken There's a movie script needed for the multiple team rise of Indian relay.

Do visit. The Chennakeshava temple is just beautiful and there's much to see around and beyond it. Enough of the Agra-Jaipur circuit alone.

Red letter day for Indians. Moving to hear Gp Capt Shubhanshu Shukla speak of his deep inspiration from watching and listening to astronaut Wg Cdr Rakesh Sharma, also of the IAF. And age 60s in space are indeed the new 30s, with Mission Commander Peggy Whitson.

“Newton Das, whose photos of being involved in Bangladesh revolution is available in public domain, says that he is a voter in WB since 2014…relatives say he has voting rights in both countries” Says he voted for TMC MLA, who helped him to get voter ID. thehindu.com/news/national/…

The new slogan is evidently: "Just Do It. #BoycottNike." What in the world were Nike and NORBLACK NORWHITE thinking for their India campaign? If companies actively want to lose money, what should their shareholders and customers think?

Switzerland, Dubai/UAE versus Odisha. Good to see alternate discussions of development capabilities. May help build better localised training models of disaster management and resilience than what's currently available.

"[..] Croatia as the Mediterranean gateway to Central Europe." No arm twisting needed. From what I hear from students and friends, Croatia is stunningly beautiful. This is India's moment not to close the book on old European ties, but rather turn the page to discover new ones.

Good to see. Well before "Sustainable Development", there was the Ashwattha tree, with numerous practices to respect it and a pivotal place in Indic lifelines (Sanatana Dharma, Jaina, Buddhist, Sikhi) from texts, daily life, and cultural references. Ficus religiosa, after all.
