All #SMCISD elementary students participated in a special activity to celebrate Texas Big Art Day by flying kites during their specials class period! Each student designed their own kite, and SMHS Visual Art students joined to help these collaborative works of art take flight!

The superior SMHS Choirs ALL shone brighter than bright at their annual UIL Concert & Sight-Reading this season!! FIVE (5) choirs earned a SWEEPSTAKES with SUPERIOR scores in both!!!

The fighting Rattler Band gets the highest ratings possible with straight 1s in Concert & Sight-Reading yesterday and today!!! Both JV and Varsity with perfect SUPERIOR scores from the judges!!!

SMHS Mariachi gains 2nd place in both Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions at the 2025 TSC Foundation Mariachi Festival in Brownsville, TX!!

The Rattler String Quartet traveled to Cinco Ranch HS in Katy, TX to compete in the Bayou City Classic music festival and earned a Superior Rating and an Outstanding Performance trophy!! Congratulations Kevin Vacaflores, Geronimo Vacaflores, Diego Vacaflores, and Benjamin Keller.
