Big thanks to Humza Yousaf & Maree Todd for meeting Scottish hospices today. We discussed the impact of (well-deserved) NHS pay awards on hospices. Hospices aren't part of the NHS but must be able to employ nurses & other staff on fair & competitive terms.

That's very hard at present. Look forward to discussing more in days & weeks ahead - urgent action is needed as hospices finalise their budgets for next year.

In the longer term, there was a strong & welcome commitment to work together with Scot Gov Health on a sustainable funding framework. With amazing supporters who fundraise so much, hospices are a partnership between the Scottish people & Scottish Government.

Positive discussions today with Humza Yousaf and Maree Todd about short and longer term funding arrangements for hospices in Scotland. Hospice staff must be included in the health staff pay award. Conversation will continue this week. #fairforall #ScottishHospices
