Version 4.5 of Octopus Watch is now rolling out 🍎🤖. In-depth gas reports for subscribers, indicators when electricity is cheaper or less carbon intensive (so you can run electrical heating), and improved gas CSV export 🔥🚀. This should get everyone ready for the winter months!

Octopus Watch predictions are restored to maximum capability. This means that 24h are reliably back up 🤞, while 48h predictions will show intermittent availability (new data is linked to the BMRS day and day ahead forecasts). New status page added too: wiki.smarthound.uk/octopus-watch/…

Octopus Watch full 48h predictions are up and running. Still some ESO data missing for now, but the predictions will automatically pick the most reliable/accurate data source now. Still no sign of the Carbon Intensity being restored.

The ESO troubles continue. The Carbon Intensity API is sending out some unexpected data that makes the iOS app throw a tantrum and crash. Update 4.5.3 is now available and introduces some etiquette so that the app can handle itself with grace.

Let's talk missing data, and how v4.6 (now out) handles this. No tricks or "defaults to 0": you need to know it's missing. You'll be *told* how many hours are missing. Day details highlight exactly *what* is missing. And, if you so wish, you'll be able to accept incomplete data.

Update 4.6.1 of Octopus Watch for iOS 🍎is out to fix a problem when fetching electricity history. There is a small change in the Octopus Energy API which meant the app couldn't fetch product codes anymore. 4.6.2 is right on its heels to fix the widget, but isn't approved yet.

Octopus Watch can show you upcoming Agile/tracker rates, and work on its next major is wrapping up. It's bigger (13 vs 5 models), better, and predicts further. Don't expect to see 4+ day predictions in the app but that is exactly what was tried in a test version. ETA: a few weeks
