Pictures of the two now disused blast furnaces at Tata Steelworks, Port Talbot, S.Wales, taken yesterday. They will soon start dismantling them, so was keen to take images of these great industrial giants before they are gone.

Setting up scopes at the Veno Star Party in Denmark where I’m talking on planetary imaging on Saturday afternoon. Beautifully clear tonight. What a location!

Tonight, colours (lunar corona) in clouds passing in front of the Moon, caused by diffraction of moonlight by tiny water droplets in the clouds. Quick iPhone timelapse. #Astrophotography ⁦#MoonHour™️Social⁩ ⁦#ThePhotoHour⁩ ⁦#StormHour

This came out pretty well in the end. Seeing was fair, then bad for 20mins then good. Glad I stuck it out. 444mm Dob and Uranus-C camera

The Titan transit from Monday night just gone and my first image of such an event. Seeing just about okay with AN642nm filter. Titan is big and dark against the disc. Nice string of four moons on the LHS as a bonus

Modified my Petzl Tactikka+ to make the ultimate astronomer's headtorch! Rotating polariser +red filter makes continuously variable brightness one side, with 3 different brightness levels for astro drawing & low brightness needs. Other side the original bright red LED for imaging

Neptune & its brightest moon, Triton, from the good seeing back on 11th Oct. 642nm AN filter, Mars Mii cam. & 444mm Dobsonian. 9.4mins total accumulated exposure time. Colourised mono image. Some vague markings but this is shot noise rather than indication of any real features
