one of the easiest ways to be a better ally for people with disabilities is to wear a high quality mask (N95, KN95, KF94, etc) and wear it regularly. especially at medical appointments, on flights, and public transit. covid impacts your entire body, not just your lungs.

I’m begging y’all to not forget disabled and chronically ill people in all of this

I can’t help but think about how much energy disabled people have to spend fighting ableism on the left, including in leftist activist spaces. And for so many disabled folx who have energy limiting illnesses, having to spend their limited energy this way is truly fucked up.

I know it sucks to admit you were wrong when you stopped masking. It sucks to acknowledge that you’ve harmed people by spreading disease. It sucks to accept that COVID is dangerous. But you can decide RIGHT NOW to wear a high-quality mask in public spaces again. I believe in you!

Today’s win: my wheelchair fits right under my office desk and I can use the chair that’s there as a little table to unpack my stuff.
