Common tansy invades & establishes in roadsides, streambanks, pastures, & disturbed areas. Identified by yellow button-like flowers, & fern-like leaves, this noxious weed is toxic to humans & livestock. It even contaminates milk if dairy cows have consumed it. #WSWS #weedscience

Does 2 passes of herbicide incorporation make a difference? I would say it does. This farm was getting too dry so we pulled the plug on 2x incorporation on a small field. You can see the impact it had on weed control when all other management practices have remained the same

Spotted knapweed is widely distributed in all 50 states & Canada. Native to Eurasia, this weed was likely introduced via alfalfa, clover, & possibly in soil that was used as ship ballast. fs.usda.gov/detail/shoshon… #WSSA #weedscience 📸 : bugwood.org

Prohibited weed under the Saskatchewan Weed Control Act. Eradication is the enforcement goal so that this plant doesn't get established in the province.

Weed control is an uphill battle; the seed bank grows every year. Add a Seed Terminator to reduce the seed bank year on year. #NoTimeLikeNow #2028 #HerbicideResistance #HWSC

#WeedControl Wednesday tip: adding perennial forages in a crop rotation can deplete the soil seed bank of annual weeds with a short viability in the soil, like kochia and grassy weeds including wild oats and green foxtail.
