Rabies vaccine doesn't play a major role as a 'post exposure' prophylaxis for Category 3 injuries (severe ones). The bigger role in them is of rabies immunoglobulin which isnt always readily available. Most of the indians havent taken rabies vaccine as a 'pre-exposure'
