SIPUs therapy team voluntary litter pick took place today with some patients that volunteered their time. Everyone who attended stated that they enjoyed getting out in the sunshine, getting their steps in and giving back to the community. 🌟🚶🌿

Pete and Zoe from Scarisbrick therapy team facilitated a countryside ramble with patients yesterday. Taking in the surrounding areas of Ormskirk. They covered nearly 8000 steps and met Eddie the little white dog who was out with his mum on an afternoon stroll 🥰🌿🌞

Scarisbrick unit celebrates mental health awareness day. Staff sponsored by Burscough FC to wear their kit ( for wear it green) a bake sale and quiz, all raised over £192 for the Hope street community hub. Heartfelt thanks from therapies for everyone's support and help 💚💚

The OT team on SIPU facilitated a woodland mindfulness walk today. Supporting individuals to be aware of the smells, sounds and sights of the peaceful local woodland and surrounding area 💚💚.

What a fantastic afternoon on Scarisbrick ward, at the ward summer party. We sang and danced the afternoon away. Thanks to the Hope Street community hub for coming and providing karaoke and all the classics on guitar. And home safari for bringing the animals!. What a day!🎸🕺💃

As it's look after your lungs week, Steph the OT on Scarisbrick unit designed and facilitated a 'making positive changes' group. We looked at the effects of smoking on health and hints and tips for trying to reduce smoking, eg) NRT, saving money, and activities.

Steph the OT on SIPU has supported patients to go on the Ormskirk heritage history trail this afternoon. A guided tour around the historic town. Supporting people to engage is something that is of interest to them, accessing the community and doing so in a graded way.

Steph and Pete from the Scarisbrick therapy team. Have been sprucing up the multi faith room on the Scarisbrick unit. The have been in touch and have visited many local churches and have received generous donations for the room. Making it an inclusive space for all.

The therapy team on Scarisbrick unit, have teamed up with service users on the unit, to create these informative boards and poppies. This is in preparation for Remembrance Sunday.❤️💜

The team were fortunate to spend the afternoon at the Birchwood centre in Skelmersdale. Building links and gaining a better understanding of how they can support individuals post discharge in many areas such as improving well-being, social inclusion, housing support and more.

Welcome to the newest addition of the Home Safari team. It is Tinks first visit to the Scarisbrick unit. As always the animals bring cheer every fortnight. We are so lucky to have this resource and also to have our long standing therapy dogs Byjorn and Isabel who visit on a Fri.

The Scarisbrick unit therapy team made a donation to the Emmanuel church community hub today. This was from fundraising from a bake sale on the ward. We attend the church weekly with patients and attend the free coffee morning. This is always popular and enjoyed by all.
