It’s been a good week on patch at Little Marlow, I’ve been waiting 11 years for a Grey Partridge to cross the main road and it finally happened today. The Red-Legged can be found most visits. A female Brambling on Sunday with Mandarin, Stonechat and Fieldfare around.

Snow Buntings on the Great Orme were back up to two yesterday and gave superb views. Nice to see them in more natural habitat, being the first away from a beach since my first ones eleven years ago on Carn Ban Mor.

A last minute twitch to my home county eventually produced a few very good views of the Yellow Warbler. 4th lifer of the year to compensate for the 4 birds lost that have been lumped.

There’s been a melanistic Lapwing at Little Marlow for the last couple of weeks, just need a little bit of sun to show it in its full glory.

The Richard’s Pipit in Bucks showed very nicely in perfect weather today. Very glad it’s hung around for the leisurely twitchers like myself.

A Bucks county tick with the Scandinavian Rock Pipit at Amersham flood meadows. Took a while to find but then showed really well. First visit to the site and surely won’t be the last.

I was hoping to see the Blue Headed Wagtail at Staines this afternoon, having only seen Channel Wagtail before but had no joy. Well worth going with great views of the pictured Slavonian Grebe and Black Necked Grebes, with distant views of the Great Northern Divers.

Barred Warbler from Wednesday at South Landing, first bird watched alongside the Oriole Birding group before they found the big one at Bempton.

Spent a very enjoyable day at Waddesdon Manor watching my first Bucks Snow Bunting. Showed superbly to a surprisingly small crowd, many thanks to Rob Cadd for refinding it and putting me on it.
