Quaker girl Sarah Sheppard Bell stitched this lovely map sampler in Tottenham in 1792. Tottenham was the site of at least one school attended by Quaker girls in the eighteenth century. Sarah’s sampler is more detailed than many contemporary map samplers

The Edith Cadbury Nursery was built in 1939 in memory of Edith Cadbury (wife of George Cadbury Junior). Edith was a pioneer of the nursery movement, + these wonderful photos show the nursery in its early years. The nursery still operates and is based in Weoley Castle, Birmingham
