Let's be abundantly clear: The legislative assault on Māori and Te Tiriti (not just the Treaty Principles Bill) are not happening because the Coalition government are concerned about "equality". 1/

Amazing spirit here at Waitangi park this morning for the #toitutetiriti hīkoi. Many tens of thousands of all backgrounds here! Feeling lucky to be here.

This is the biggest hīkoi / protest / movement I’ve ever seen in Pōneke. Waitangi Park was packed to the brim and overflowing. The hīkoi barely moving because of all the people 🖤🤍❤️ #HikoiMoTeTiriti

The hīkoi is so beautifully managed. There were helpers at the train station pointing people in the right direction & giving out lollies, Te Atiawa raukura flags guiding the way along the water, kaumātua tents & refreshments. Everyone looked after & safe 🖤🤍❤️ #HikoiMoTeTiriti

What a heartwarming moment, I'm buzzing...a historical Hikoi arrives at Parliament...the end and the beginning of a proud movement #ToitūTeTiriti

Genuinely inspiring to see tens of thousands of people come together as one with a simple uniting message: shut the fuck up david seymour

I’ve been on a lot of rallies & marches over the years since ‘81. Reporting from Wellies? It was the biggest, most unified & positive one ever - and the biggest change was the number of non-Māori stepping up.

So Luxon wading in and spouting about how local councils should do things better when the national deficit (both meanings) and books are in the red till 2029. Even after they've 'adjusted' the figures!

Autocorrect just changed “have a prosperous 2025” to “have a preposterous 2025” and I feel that’s much more likely.
