I have a strong feeling that indian badminton has come age and we can go for the biggest prize, the Thomas cup. We have real depth in men's singles and our doubles players are improving daily. We are ready to take on the best. This world championships has shown that.

20 year old Lakshya Sen becomes the youngest Indian to reach semi-finals of a world championship, assuring him of a medal. A great performance! He has what is needed to become India's best ever shuttler. #WorldChampionships #BWFWorldChampionships2021 #IndiaontheRise #Badminton

Prakash Padukone said recently in Mumbai it is important to win major titles rather than go for high rankings. In badminton All England, world championships, or an Olympic medal make the grade. So it was nice to hear lakshya saying he was not happy with bronze. I wanted gold

This obsession about the draws of a tournament is hilarious. Today the"draw if India open was out. Already the media had reported good draw for lakshya. Tough for Sindhu. Why good for Sen because he meets unknown in first round.if he has to win he had to defeat every one he plays

I prefer the word fixtures as they tell what time is your match and on which court. That is all you need to know. Draw not good for top seed Sindhu. She was world champion for Christ sake. Better than anybody. How can draw be bad for her. Players should change their mind set.

I am told that Yonex India open in Delhi may not happen. Yes, due to the galloping cases rising each day due to Covid. Such a pity. It will be really sad if it is cancelled.what has this dastardly character who invented covid, got against sports and sportsperson. Should be hanged

Can India be a powerhouse in world badminton, churning out world beaters just like China, Japan Indonesia etc. Yes we can if we dream big. We have the infrastructure, facilities in place and individual brilliance for all ro see. But not much planning and foresight. We must plan.

Sanjay Sharma (@shuttlersanjay) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We must plan to have bench strength in all events. We have in men singles good solid players but we have no one in ladies. With Sindhu struggling, Saina beset with injuries, we have no one to take their place. We need to go into this aspect with hammer and tongs.

Sanjay Sharma (@shuttlersanjay) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I will go in prospect of doubles events soon. We need to identify good solid 16-17 years old and train them properly. And then unleash them on the world circuit, and let them get adequate experience. But they have to be physically strong and fast to face the best in the world.

I am hoping that @sainanehwal gets back to play without injuries from today. She is the one who put indian badminton on world map. We should not forget her 24 titles and 17 top class medals in Asia, CWG, World championship and Olympics. She still has fight left in her to shine.

Terrible, terrible. Covid has hit Indian open terribly hard. Many top players have been infected including kidambi srikant, Ashwini ponappa, etc. English contingent withdrew at start. The BAI and Bwf Have to sort out the mess. There may be at least 13 withdrawals today. Terrible

.Saina Nehwal cut a sorry figure today at #IndiaOpen2022 when she was bundled out by young compatriot Malvika Bansod #MalvikaBansod in just 32 minutes. She was slow, sluggish in movements and did not read the tactics of Malvika. For sake of Indian badminton Saina must bounce back.

Sanjay Sharma (@shuttlersanjay) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Once an unstoppable force, Saina Nehwal has a lot to think about. My writeup in News18 on #IndiaOpen2022 and future of #Badminton news18.com/news/sports/on…

What a great india open badminton which finished last night. Lakshya Sen, Satwick sai rankireddy, malvika Bansod, Akurshi Kashyap, Akshita Chaliha are the names we will be hearing lots in future. Gen Next is ready to take over mantle from seniors. Good for Indian badminton

Sanjay Sharma (@shuttlersanjay) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Asia team championship finished today our men, women will come back empty handed. Did we send our best players. No Why? Only BAI knows. In team championship our best players should go.let them not go for open prize money events. But team events should see best players

Who will fill up the vast strong shoes of Saina Nehwal. Or even Sindhu shoes when she thinks if retirement. It will be unnati Hooda of Haryana, a fellow jatni like saina. Only 14 years old she has won last two all india senior events. Remember you heard this name here first.
